From Allotment to Show Bench:
Giant Veg Success at Malvern 🏆
If you've ever grown something you were proud of, you'll know the feeling. Now imagine that feeling on a 45kg swede! 😄
At this year's CANNA UK National Giant Vegetables Championship at the Malvern Autumn Show, three growers who've been using Biocore Agri Liquid Fish, Blood & Bone all season had a weekend they won't forget.
MEET THE WINNERS
Lee Herrington took 2nd place with his giant cabbage. Lee runs the Life at the Allotment Facebook group, where he's been sharing his growing journey all year, so it's brilliant to see all that hard work pay off on the big stage.
Derek Richardson took 1st place in the Giant Swede class with an entry weighing an incredible 45kg.
Arthur Richardson, Derek's brother, was right behind him in 2nd place with his own giant swede. And he didn't stop there, taking 3rd for his leek, 3rd for his rhubarb and 5th for his radish.
What a weekend for the Richardson family! 👏
Of course, veg like this takes months of care: early starts, careful watering, protecting plants from the weather and plenty of patience. The credit goes to the growers. We're just proud to have played a small part along the way. 💚
