The Biocore Agri Challenge – Pushing the Limits of Growing in 2026
Following an incredible 2025 season that saw record-breaking results and a surge of interest from growers across the UK, a new idea was born — The Biocore Agri Challenge.
But what exactly is it, and why is everyone talking about it?
How the Challenge Started
The challenge was created by Lee Herrington from Life at the Allotment, after a standout growing season that saw him produce a giant squash weighing an incredible 276kg.
After sharing his success, Lee was flooded with questions from fellow growers, competitors and followers:
How did you do it? What did you use? What made the difference?
A big part of that success came down to his feeding approach — in particular, using Biocore Agri Liquid Fish, Blood & Bone.
Rather than keeping that to himself, Lee decided to do what the giant veg community does best — share, test, and push things further together.
What Is The Biocore Agri Challenge?
The Biocore Agri Challenge is a nationwide growing initiative bringing together passionate growers to trial Biocore Agri Liquid Fish, Blood & Bone fertiliser across a wide range of crops.
From experienced competitive growers to dedicated allotment gardeners, participants are using the product throughout the 2026 season to see just how far they can push their results.
Crops involved include:
- Giant squash
- Marrows
- Onions
- Tomatoes
- And more
The goal is simple:
👉 To explore what’s possible when great growing meets the right nutrition.
Where Is It Taking Place?
This isn’t happening in one location — it’s happening all across the UK.
From allotments and back gardens to more advanced growing setups, the challenge is being carried out in real-world conditions by real growers.
That’s what makes it so exciting — the results will reflect a wide range of growing styles, environments and techniques.
Where You Can Follow the Results
The progress of the challenge will be shared throughout the season, giving growers the chance to follow along and learn as things develop.
