1 Lavatera Burgundy Wine Tree Mallow, Hardy Perennial Flowering Shrub for Cottage Garden, 2L Root-Ball

£18.99

Lavatera 'Burgundy Wine' is a stunning hardy perennial flowering shrub, prized for its abundance of rich, deep burgundy-pink, funnel-shaped blooms that appear from early summer right through to autumn. A classic cottage garden favourite, this Tree Mallow brings months of colour and elegance to borders, mixed plantings and informal garden schemes. Its soft, grey-green lobed foliage provides an attractive backdrop to the striking flowers, which are highly attractive to bees, butterflies and other pollinators.

This vigorous and easy-to-grow shrub thrives in a sunny, sheltered position and performs best in well-drained soil. Once established, Lavatera 'Burgundy Wine' is relatively drought tolerant and requires minimal maintenance beyond an annual prune in spring to encourage fresh, bushy growth and prolific flowering. It is well suited to cottage gardens, herbaceous borders, wildlife-friendly plantings and can also be used as an informal screen or backdrop to lower-growing perennials.
