Planting and Care:

Plant in a sheltered position in full sun with well-drained soil. Ceanothus does not thrive in heavy, waterlogged clay. Avoid exposed, very windy sites. Prune lightly after flowering to maintain shape – avoid cutting back into old wood as Ceanothus does not regenerate well from hard pruning. A sheltered south or west-facing aspect is ideal.
